About Example Florist
Example Florist has been arranging flowers on the same high street corner since 2011, buying from a mix of local growers and the flower market depending on the season.
The shop was started by a florist who had trained and worked in London before moving back to Devon, wanting to run a shop built around fresh stock and personal service rather than a standard catalogue of arrangements. Buckets of flowers are chosen, cut and conditioned by hand each morning, which means the range on display shifts through the year rather than staying the same.
We buy as much as we can from growers within the county, particularly through the summer months when local dahlias, sweet peas and cosmos are at their best and bring in the rest from the flower market for varieties that cannot be grown locally. Every arrangement, from a small bunch to a full wedding order, is still made on site by hand.
Over the years the shop has built relationships with funeral directors, wedding venues and local businesses across South Devon, alongside a loyal base of customers who call in for something fresh most weeks. We still see the shop as a small, local business first and try to keep that feeling as it has grown.
