Weddings
Getting married in a parish church involves more than booking a date and our team is happy to talk through what is legally required and what options are available for the service itself, from music and readings to the timing of the ceremony.
We offer a preparation meeting for every couple, covering the structure of the service and any personal touches they would like to include. The church holds a good number of guests and has a level entrance suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
Baptisms and christenings
We hold baptisms for babies, children and adults throughout the year, usually as part of a regular Sunday service so the whole congregation can share in the occasion. Some families prefer a smaller, separate service and we are happy to arrange that too.
Before the day itself we meet with parents and godparents to talk through what the service involves. There is no set format for these conversations and questions are always welcome, however basic they might seem.
Funerals and bereavement support
We work closely with local funeral directors to arrange services that reflect the person who has died, from a traditional funeral to a simpler service or a memorial held some time after a private burial or cremation.
Bereavement does not end with the funeral and we offer ongoing pastoral visits and a monthly bereavement group for anyone who would find it helpful to talk with others who understand what they are going through.
