The tipi style marquee has a tall, pointed roofline and an open interior that gives it a distinctive look quite different to a traditional or clear span structure. Several tipis can be joined together to cover larger guest numbers, with the join between them left open to keep the space feeling connected.
The height of the structure allows for dramatic lighting, from hanging fittings to festoon lines strung across the peaks and the natural timber poles suit a rustic or countryside wedding particularly well. It tends to work best on grass rather than hard standing.
Because tipis are usually installed as a group of connected structures, the layout takes some early planning around where the ceremony, dining and dance floor sections will sit within the joined space.
