Hand stripping
Traditional hand stripping for wire coated breeds, kept to the correct breed standard.
Wire coated breeds such as terriers need hand stripping rather than clipping to keep their coat texture and colour correct. It is a slower, more skilled process, but it protects the coat for the long term.
We work in short sessions over several weeks rather than one long sitting, which is far more comfortable for the dog and gives a better finish. Each session focuses on a different part of the coat.
This service suits show dogs and pet dogs alike. Even if you have no interest in showing, hand stripping keeps a wire coat healthier and reduces shedding around the home.
