GCSE English language and literature

English tuition covers the set texts for the pupil's exam board alongside language paper skills such as unseen extract analysis and creative writing. We read the actual set texts being studied at school rather than a generic list.

A lot of the work is about structure: building an argument, using quotations properly and managing time in the exam. Tutors mark practice essays in detail and go through the feedback together rather than just handing back a grade.

Sessions can run weekly through the year or as a short intensive block before mocks or finals, depending on what the pupil needs.
