The site opened on land that had been part of a family farm for several generations, with the first pitches marked out in a single field behind the farmhouse. Camping was a way to make use of ground that no longer suited the farm's main work and it grew from there.
We have added facilities gradually, from the shower block in the early years to the glamping field and shepherd's huts more recently, always trying to keep pace with what guests actually asked for rather than what looked impressive on paper. The site has never been the biggest in the area and we are comfortable with that.

Campfire nights each summer
Every Friday through July and August we light a communal fire near the shepherd's huts, open to anyone staying on site.
