A winter storm left part of the clubhouse roof damaged and the building unusable for several weeks, putting training sessions and matches at risk during a busy part of the season. The committee moved quickly to organise temporary repairs and a longer term fix.
Rather than waiting for insurance alone to cover the cost, members and local businesses came together to fund additional improvements, including better insulation and a refurbished kitchen area used for matchday teas and social events.
The work was completed by early spring, with several club members giving up weekends to help with painting and general tidying once the main building work was finished. The clubhouse now looks better than it has in years.
