Ashburton sits on the edge of Dartmoor and most of our guests are here for walking, cycling or simply a few quiet days away from home. We keep a set of local maps and a folder of walking routes in the guest lounge, ranging from an easy hour along the river to a proper day out on the moor.
We're happy to point guests towards places to eat, whether that's a quick lunch in town or somewhere worth booking ahead for an evening meal and we try to keep our recommendations honest rather than just listing everywhere we know. The same goes for anything from a garden to visit to a good spot for a pub lunch after a walk.
A lot of our knowledge comes from guests themselves, who often come back and tell us about somewhere they found that we hadn't recommended. We update our folder of suggestions a few times a year to keep it current.
