This couple near Ashburton had a large garden with an unused corner that got good sun through the day and wanted to start growing their own vegetables properly rather than relying on a few pots by the back door.
We designed a layout of raised beds with paths wide enough for a wheelbarrow, along with a level base for a small greenhouse they planned to add later. Soil in the beds was improved before planting to give the vegetables the best possible start.
The first growing season produced a good crop across most of the beds and the couple have since added their greenhouse to the prepared base without any further groundwork needed. They have asked us back to help plan a small fruit area next.
