Do I need a referral from my GP?
No, you can book directly with us without a referral. Some private health insurers do ask for a GP referral, so it is worth checking your policy before your appointment.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Loose, comfortable clothing that allows the area being assessed to move freely works best. Shorts are useful for hip, knee or ankle appointments and we can provide a gown if needed.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends entirely on the condition and how you respond to treatment. We review progress at each session and agree next steps together, rather than committing to a fixed number in advance.
Is physiotherapy covered by health insurance?
Many private health insurance policies cover physiotherapy, though terms vary between providers. We are happy to provide receipts and session notes for your claim.
What happens at the first appointment?
We take a full history, carry out a physical assessment and talk through what we find before agreeing a plan together. Most first appointments include some initial treatment as well.
Can you treat me if I am still waiting for a scan or surgery?
Yes, we regularly see people before a scan or procedure has taken place. Early treatment can often help manage symptoms while you wait.
Do you treat sports injuries as well as everyday pain?
Yes, we see everyone from competitive athletes to people simply wanting to move more comfortably day to day. Assessment and treatment are tailored to your goals either way.
What if I need to cancel or rearrange?
Let us know as early as you can and we will find another time that suits you. Plenty of notice helps us offer the slot to another patient who may be waiting.
